Multideck 80-V2 from Kingspan Structural Products was specified for the Republic of Irelands largest Tesco - the company’s €8.5m flagship store in Maynooth, County Kildare.

Approximately 11,000m² of Kingspan Multideck 80-V2 was installed at the Tesco Maynooth store to provide a high performance structural steel composite flooring system.

Due to its unique profile, Multidek 80-V2 requires less concrete than other decks to achieve any given slab thickness and can span up to 5.4 metres without propping, reducing the overall installation time. 

In this instance the slab was reinforced using Dramix® fibres to provide a “pre-reinforced” concrete slab which meant no mesh had to be installed.  Dramix® fibres are made from prime quality hard-drawn steelwire to ensure high tensile strength and close tolerances. 

Designed to optimise composite floor construction, the Multideck range has a wider standard cover width, requiring fewer panels and sidelaps, and has a comprehensive range of accessories allowing for easy installation of ceilings and services.

Manufactured from galvanised steel, Kingspan Multideck 80-V2 complies with BS EN 10143 and BS EN 10326 with a guaranteed minimum yield strength of 350N/mm2 and a minimum total coating mass (including both sides) of 275 g/m² and has a fire performance of up to 4 hours.
